How much an agent charges to import a car from Germany

Short answer: it depends on what is included. In the published prices we reviewed, a service that finds the car in Germany and gets it ready in Spain charges between €1,500 and €3,500 + VAT in fees, and one advertises the package from €3,990. Transport (€700 to €1,300), the official taxes and, if you want one, a check of the car in Germany (from €238) usually come on top. Comparing fees alone is misleading: compare what work each price covers.

What the market publishes

Three real price lists, side by side

These are prices each service publishes on its own website, checked on 17.10.2026. We do not name them: the point is to compare service models, not to advertise anyone.

Transport, on top€700 – €1,300
Check of the car in Germany, optional€238 + €0.50/km

None of the three publishes the registration tax as a fixed figure, because it depends on each car's CO₂ and age. “From” means the final price is known once the specific car has been seen.

Before you sign with anyone

Six questions that separate one price from another

Does it include finding the car, or only the final part once you have it?1
Is transport inside the price or on top?2
Does anyone check the car before you pay? In person, or only the papers?3
Are taxes charged at cost, with a receipt?4
Is it a fixed price or a “from”?5
Where is the car handed over?6

No service can include the official taxes in advance, because they depend on the car. If a quote gives them as final without having seen the documents, ask where the figure comes from.

Questions

What people ask most about prices

How much does an agent charge to bring a car from Germany to Spain?

In the published prices we checked on 17.10.2026, fees for finding and bringing the car range from €1,500 to €3,500 + VAT, and one service advertises the package from €3,990. Transport (€700–€1,300) and the official taxes usually come on top.

Why do prices differ so much between services?

Because they do not include the same work. Some only bring a car you have already chosen; others find it, check it at origin and negotiate with the seller. Before comparing, ask whether finding, transport and the check are included.

How much do you charge?

€1,400 + VAT to find the car, check it, negotiate with the seller and bring it over, green plates included; €900 + VAT if the car is already in Spain. Reference transport is €1,300 and taxes are at cost.

Are taxes included in those prices?

Not with any service, because they depend on the car — above all the registration tax, which runs from 0% to 16% by CO₂. The honest way is to list them separately, at cost and with a receipt.

Is it cheaper to do it myself?

You save the fees, but not the taxes or the transport, and you carry the risk of buying at a distance. If the saving against the same car in Spain is small, buying here may be the sensible choice.
