Registering an imported car in Orihuela
Your car is already in Spain on foreign plates and your registered address is in Alicante province. We coordinate the whole case, through to Spanish plates.

We do not sell paperwork. We sell the outcome: your car on Spanish plates.

Orihuela is served by the SITVAL station at San Bartolomé, on the Orihuela–Almoradí road (CV-900) at km 8.3 — not in the town centre, so the inspection means a trip out of town. The town centre is inland and largely Spanish-speaking, while Orihuela Costa, on the coast, has a large British and Scandinavian community bringing cars in on foreign plates and needing to register them in Spain.
Our base is in Dénia, but registration does not require you to travel there: we handle the paperwork, book the import ITV appointment at the Orihuela station, arrange homologation when the car needs it, and coordinate the filing at the Provincial Traffic Office in Alicante. Whether the car is in Orihuela itself or on Orihuela Costa, you get it back on Spanish plates: €900 + VAT for our service, official taxes passed through at cost.

What is checked there
Brakes, suspension, steering, lights and signalling, tyres, emissions, glass and mirrors, bodywork and the chassis number, and that the car matches its ficha técnica. An imported car goes through an ITV de importación — the same checks plus a check of the foreign documents.
What we do
We collect the car, book the cita previa, look over the points that fail most often, take it through the inspection and bring it back. You do not have to be there.
How long you actually have
These are the legal limits, not our terms. They decide whether your car is a formality or a fine.
If you are registered here (empadronado, NIE, or a permanent establishment), you have 30 days from when the car starts being used in Spain to register it. The clock does not wait for paperwork to arrive.
Without Spanish residency you may drive foreign plates for up to 183 days in any 12-month period. Become a resident and the 30-day rule takes over.
Driving on foreign plates after the limit is a serious offence under the Ley de Tráfico (art. 65.5.k): fines commonly 500–1,500 € and up to 3,000 €, and officers may immobilise the car on the spot.
If the registration cannot be finished inside the 30 days, the DGT issues temporary green plates valid for 60 days and renewable — that keeps the car legal while the file is being processed.
The file goes to the traffic office of your province
Registration is handled by the Jefatura Provincial de Tráfico that matches the owner's registered address. If you are on the padrón in Alicante province, your file is an Alicante file — regardless of where the car is parked. Appointments are booked through 060, the miDGT app or the DGT electronic office.
Check your paperwork before anything starts, book the ITV slot, arrange individual homologation when the car needs it, pay the fees and coordinate the filing.
We are not an ITV station and not an official body. We are a private service that coordinates your case from start to finish and keeps you informed at every step.
The DGT fee, IEDMT where it applies and the town hall's IVTM. These are official taxes — passed on at cost.
Where your car takes its import inspection
Alicante province has fixed stations in Alcoy, Alicante, Benidorm, Elche, Novelda, Ondara, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada, Redován, Torrevieja and Villena, plus mobile units in Benissa, Calpe, Castalla, El Campello and Santa Pola. We pick the station by real availability and by where the car is — not by where our office is.
Orihuela has an assigned station: it sits in the San Bartolomé district on the Orihuela–Almoradí road (CV-900), about 8 km from the town centre.
We work across the whole province
Coast: Dénia, Jávea, Teulada-Moraira, Benissa, Calpe, Altea, L'Alfàs del Pi, Benidorm, Villajoyosa, El Campello, Alicante, Santa Pola, Guardamar, Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Pilar de la Horadada.
Inland: Alcoy, Cocentaina, Ibi, Villena, Elda, Petrer, Novelda, Aspe, Elche, Crevillente, Orihuela, Almoradí and Callosa de Segura.
If your town is not on the list but sits in the province, write anyway: registration does not depend on distance, and we can move the car ourselves.
Tell us what the car is and where it came from
With the ficha técnica or COC and the foreign registration document we give you the full cost before anything starts. IEDMT is always a preliminary estimate until it is confirmed against the final technical sheet.

British car? We coordinate that too.
Cars coming from the UK go through the same registration we do for any other import — our service is the same fixed 900 € + VAT. The official taxes and charges depend on the vehicle and its documents, so we confirm them for your car before you commit to anything.
Send us the V5C on WhatsApp →UK cars: how we do it →US cars: 0% duty since July →Don't have the car yet?
We search the German market on your instruction and bring the car through to Spanish plates. You buy it from the seller — we are not a dealer and hold no stock.
