From the old town it is a tie; from the coast, Calp wins

From Benissa Town Hall, the Calp ITV line is 11.1 km away and Ondara station 19.2 km, yet the times are nearly level: 17 and 18 minutes. On the coast there is no tie. From Fanadix, Calp is 6.7 km — 12 minutes — and Ondara 25.2 km; from Cala de l'Advocat, 5.5 km against 27.8.

The Calp line handles periodic inspections and re-tests only, and closes at lunchtime. If there is no slot, or the vehicle does not fit that line, the car goes to Ondara, which does everything and opens on Saturdays.

Fanadix counts as a place of its own

Benissa had 12,524 residents on 1 January 2025, according to INE, in 9 population centres. The largest outside the old town is Fanadix, a separate settlement on the coastal strip with 2,541 residents.

For us it is the same collection: tell us where the car is, we come at the agreed time and leave it in the same spot on the way back.

FAQ

Questions from neighbours

I live on the Benissa coast — where does my car go?

Almost always to the Calp line, 5–7 km from Fanadix or the coves. If the inspection is not a periodic one, or there is no slot, to Ondara.

When do you use Ondara instead of Calp?

When the inspection is neither periodic nor a re-test, when the vehicle exceeds the 3,600 mm wheelbase Calp accepts, or when the only slot that works is on a Saturday.

Do I have to be at home when you collect the car?

No. We agree how to hand over the keys and bring the car back to the same place.

What needs to be in the car?

The two car documents — ficha técnica and permiso de circulación. Your NIE and proof of insurance you can send us on WhatsApp beforehand, and we check them in good time.
