Calp or Ondara: it depends where the car starts and which inspection is due

From Moraira, the Calp ITV line is about 10 km away, 18 minutes; Ondara is 24.4 km. From Teulada village the gap narrows — 11.6 km to Calp, 18.2 km to Ondara — and the driving time is almost the same: 17 and 19 minutes.

What really decides it is what each one does. Calp is a mobile line installed there permanently: periodic inspections and re-tests only, on weekday mornings, and only for cars and light vans with a wheelbase of up to 3,600 mm. Ondara does every type of inspection and is open on Saturday mornings too.

FAQ

Questions from neighbours

Who decides whether the car goes to Calp or Ondara?

We do, based on the type of inspection, the size of the vehicle and the appointments available. For you nothing changes: the car leaves from your door and comes back to it.

I have a long van or a motorhome. Can it go to Calp?

The Calp line only takes cars and light vans with a wheelbase of up to 3,600 mm. If yours is longer it cannot go there, and we find another station. Send us the technical sheet and we will confirm.

I live on an urbanisation in Moraira — do you collect there?

Yes — in Moraira, in Teulada and on any urbanisation in the municipality. The car comes back to the same door.

What if the car fails?

We check it over before the appointment, so you normally hear about any problem from us before the station. If something needs fixing, we find a trusted garage and oversee the work. If we cleared the car and it fails on something we should have spotted, the re-test is on us.
